15 Months & NESTING!

My first trip to feed the dogs (I barked at them)... orrr VERY large and VERY loud ducks!

Hello all! I just wanted to pop in for an update on my baby sister, her awesome room, and my 15-month "stats."

MOMMY & EVELYN

For the last two weeks Mommy's fluids have been dropping (the same thing happened when I was to arrive, so she's not too worried... her Dr is great!) so she's been going in to see Dr every 3-4 days. A couple of weeks ago Mommy's fluids were ranging at Normal-High. Early this week her fluids were at 8.7, which is Normal-Low (dilated to 1cm and not much effacement, Evie hadn't gained as much weight as the Dr wanted to see either), a few days later her fluids had dropped to 7.1, still Normal-Low, but Low (dilated to 2.5cm and some effacement going on). If fluids drop to a 5, Dr will induce to make sure Evie and Mommy are safe and sound. We're praying Mommy goes into labor on her own or can hydrate enough to not have an induction; however, I was born via induction and came out perfect (if I do say so myself...), so if that's the route Dr decides to take, Mommy and Daddy are comfortable with it-- anything to bring Evelyn safely into the world. Last time the Dr measured Evie, she was 6lbs 8.5oz (reminder... when I was born I was 7lbs 11.5oz).

EVELYN'S ROOM

For the last month, Mommy has been NESTING... BIG TIME! I've been "helping" by rearranging the knick-knacks to new, better places in Evelyn's room. Mommy even tried to put one of my pink bears in Evelyn's room (she says it's because it matched and made the rocking chair look nice)... but I wasn't having any of that-- it's now back in my room--safe and sound.
Cici helped Mommy a lot by painting Evie's room pink (it was a golden color before).
Mommy worked on this pretty tree... I love the heart "carving" she made in the tree. The tree looked bare, so she found some paper flowers on sale at Michael's to "pretty it up".

 

 

 

The next project Mommy and Cici worked on was a once ugly white dresser Mommy kept hidden in my closet. Cici painted the top and fronts of the drawers dark brown. Then the rest was painted a pretty cream color. The dresser looked better already, but was missing that "pretty" aspect, so Mommy used a stencil to paint some pretty pink designs on it. The knobs that were on it weren't pretty enough, either, so Cici got Evelyn some bling! The dresser looks great!  

 

 

 

 

 

 

Then Mommy and Cici tackled the fan! They put a new globe on it and stenciled with some pink paint.     

 

This pretty antique dresser was missing a handle, though they tried very hard to find a similar replacement, Mommy and Cici could not. So the dresser got new handles and is now Evelyn's big dresser and changing table.

 

This is the pretty bedding Evelyn got for Christmas from Grandma and Grandpa Jim-Jim. It's SO pretty and Princess-like!  

 

The blinds that came with the house were not very "elegant," so Mommy and Cici put up some faux dark brown wood ones (they help keep the light out pretty well, too!) and the curtain rod was already up in the room and matched Evelyn's stuff, so it stayed as well. The bedding set came with the pretty valance, but then Mommy found the sheer curtains for the bedding set on Amazon and they completed the look! (I'll add pics later, but Mommy ended up rolling the sheers up under the blinds and it looks even better)

There's more pictures of Evelyn's room to come! Mommy added some pretty things to the walls and painted a canvas for Evie. Mommy also added/changed my room up a bit, too. She didn't want to leave me out! I'll post pictures of my Ladybug room, too!

In November, Daddy went to his Best Soldier competition (one for Special Forces) and he WON! I am so proud of him!!! He went back for the finals in February and placed 3rd (without training)! Go Daddy!

I had my 15-Month Check up and I'm doing great!! Dr. says I'm SUPER tall (maybe I'll be a Volleyball player?) and my developments are great. Mommy really likes my Dr. She is pregnant again, too, so they will both be going through a lot of the same fun (newborns with Toddlers) so they can encourage each other. Dr said she's even going to try out our church!
