Week Fifteen!!!

Hello everyone! Hope you had an awesome Memorial Day weekend honoring people like my Daddy and enjoying time with your family.

Splash Day at Cici and RB's was fun, I can't wait 'till next year when I can join and splish, splash in the pool with my big brother Jr. Check him out in his "Big Brother" bandana Mommy made for him!

We also had some fun at Daddy's parents' house for some yummy food and to hang out. Cici's birthday is this week, so Mommy made her a sign!

On to me! This week I am the size of an orange!
Check it out:

This week I'm growing, growing. Gaining weight and inches in my head to booty measurement. I am moving my little fingers and toes now. My legs are longer than my arms (getting all proportional) and have functioning joints in them, so Mommy is going to start feeling me squirming in a few weeks. My ears and eyes are moving to their spots, I am looking good these days! I am still practicing my breathing for the big day!
Mommy is gaining weight, now. She was losing weight last trimester, but that has caught up with her. She's supposed to be averaging about one pound per week, but Mommy doesn't believe in scales, so she leaves the weighing in to the doc. Since I am taking every nutrient I can get from her, she is having to eat lots of snacks and small meals to stay on her feet so she doesn't get dizzy... taking Jr out to potty in the morning going down to the first floor and back up to the third before breakfast is not going to work, anymore. So Jr gets to wait for Mommy to eat a cereal bar before taking that journey.
We have a Dr. appointment on Friday, so I'll update you next week on how that went and hopefully Mommy and Daddy will get to schedule the 3D sonogram to make sure all of my organs and major features are doing what they're supposed to be doing (the most important part of the visit) but the 3D doc may also be able to tell if I have or don't have certain parts (the hoo-haa and yee-haw) which is going to be really exciting for Mommy and Daddy to find out! They say it takes until week 20 to determine the sex, but Mommy has done some research and the new 3D machines can see a lot better than those older black and white sonos, so they may get lucky!
See you next week!!

If You are a Lemon, Make Some Lemonade.....

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a great week! Happy Birthday to Poppie last week! Happy Birthday to Uncle Nathan this week!
Mommy is excited to make some yummy Margarita and Pink Lemonade Cupcakes (in honor of ME-see how me and lemonade have something in common below) for Splash Day. I'm excited to hear everyone's voices since I won't be able to see them, yet! Maybe I'll get here just a little before Thanksgiving so I can see everyone and get lots of attention, but we will have to see how I am feeling.
Mommy got some really cool stuff for me this week from a friend: a crib mattress, a diaper changing pad, some more maternity clothes, some swaddling blankets, and a really cool stroller with a car seat and CiCi said she has the dresser that Mommy had when she was a baby for me and Nanny has a crib, changing table, rocking chairs and other fun things for me (Mommy and Daddy like all of this free stuff they're getting)! I have the best family, ever!

Mommy went to her friend Julie's baby shower last weekend , which was beautiful (Julie's husband is Daddy's old youth minister, Carter, who is now their young marrieds class leader). God and baby Kyndall threw in a surprise when the Dr's said that Julie would have to deliver almost two months early. Their family has gone through a lot the past few weeks, but Kyndall is so lucky to have parents who love her so much and trust in God rather than themselves to make her strong and healthy! I can't wait to meet Kyndall, I bet she is an amazing girl!

Mommy and Daddy celebrated Daddy's last day at Discount Tire last week and celebrated the start of his new job (he starts Monday) by going to Ghengis Grill (I really like that place, so YUMMY).
Now about the important stuff, ME! This week I am about the size of a lemon.
Take a look:

I am over three inches from booty to head and hit the 1+ ounce mark in my weight. I have been really busy growing, and Mommy can definitely feel my house (her uterus) expanding and her back is really hurting, I don't think it feels too good, but she is happy because she knows the pain just means her body is changing because I am growing strong and healthy! She is also starting to feel and see a little bump coming along, too (it almost happened overnight!).
Mommy had a bunch of blood work done this week to make sure we are doing well. Mommy also got some new prenatal vitamins that she likes much better than the last ones (no nausea) and smaller pills. The new stuff has DHA which will help me have healthy eyes and may even help with my cognitive development (pretty important).
We have a Dr. appt in a couple of weeks so the Dr can check our progress and schedule a 3D sonogram where Mommy and Daddy MAY get to find out if I have a hoo-haa or a yee-haw! Daddy better start getting with the program and helping Mommy decide on a beautiful name just in case I'm his little princess (he still thinks I'm going to be his little boy). Mommy doesn't want him to jinx them, so she really wants to find a name, I think they both like the name Audrey Grace, but Daddy just won't decide until he hears which body parts I have (or don't)! Silly Daddy!

When doctors say you're the size of a lemon, make lemonade, or urine in my case. That's right, it's not super cute like cooing or snuggling up next to you, but it means my insides are practicing for the big day (the most important day in Mommy and Daddy's life, my entrance into the world). My intestines are getting filled with the poopy tar that will come out of my booty after I'm born, practice makes perfect poop!

The roof of my mouth is forming which will be nice to have when I am getting nourishment from Mommy and learning how to talk and eat solid foods. I am also practicing breathing, but I'm not breathing air like Mommy, but I am practicing none-the-less. My liver, kidneys, and spleen are continuing to grow. Lanugo (we'll call it baby fur) is growing all over me to keep me warm until I can make enough fat to keep myself warm, but don't worry, the baby fur will pretty much all shed off before the big day. I also now have fingerprints making me different from every other baby on the planet.

Check out these ADORABLE boots Mommy found:

Also, check out these booties that Debbie (a nice lady at Cici's work) made for me!!!

One down, two to go! Week 13!

Hope everyone had a great week last week! This week starts the Second Trimester, so exciting! This week, I am about the size of a peach, almost 3 inches long (from head to booty, I'm not quite all straightened out yet).
Take a look:

This week I am forming my teeth so I can eat yummy big kid food once they grow in. I am also forming vocal cords so EVERYONE will know when I am not happy and when I am tickled. I am looking more and more like the me you will see in November, my proportions are looking more normal (my head is now only 1/3 the size of the rest of my body). My intestines are taking a journey from that tube that gives me all my food (the umbilical cord) to my tummy, which will be nice when I make my entrance because my friend, Placenta, will not be my source of food anymore.
Mommy needs to enjoy this week, I am not moving around much, but soon I will be punching and kicking and she will feel it. I'm sure it will be exciting, but I may get a little too feisty for her sometimes, too. :-D  She is already feeling the pain of her uterus expanding to fit the bigger me, but she's not really showing her baby belly just yet.
Mommy also has her blood tests this week to make sure everything is going well. In a few more weeks she will have another appointment with the Dr to make sure we are doing great, then her Dr will send her off to the 3D sono people, where they will look at me a lot more closely to make sure I am the perfect little baby God made me to be!
See you next week!

Their Little Sugar Plum

Hello everyone! I hope all you Mommies out there had a fantastic and relaxing Mother's Day on Sunday! Mommy and Daddy saw their Mommies and had a great time. I can't wait to meet my Mommy, face-to-face in about 6 months
This week is a HUGE week because in a few days, Mommy gets to check off the first trimester! I also broke the 2 inch mark in my booty to head measurements this week. Now, I am about the size of a plum.
Take a look:

Last week, Mommy and Daddy went to the Dr. Daddy got to see me on the sonogram for the first time. The Dr was able to let them hear my heart beat and show them how I am already moving around. They were both so happy and excited and cannot wait to see me on the 3D sonogram in a few weeks, where the Dr's will make sure all of my organs are forming correctly and check to make sure I'm doing well.

After the developmental stage (the first trimester) completed, most of my systems have been formed! During the second trimester, I will be in the growth and maturation stage. I will be growing a lot during this stage, so Mommy's tummy will be getting big enough where people want to touch it (though I think Mommy would rather you didn't, you may get an unexpected surprise when she reaches out and grabs your belly if you simply can't resist :-D ). I will also start kicking in this stage, something Mommy and Daddy are anxious to feel.
Everyone will find out if I am a boy or a girl about half-way into this stage (20-28 weeks) depending on how I decide to get comfy.
Get ready for an exciting 3 months this trimester!
See you next week!

Thank Heaven for 11 Weeks!

Hello everyone!!! I hope you had a great week.
Mommy had a dental appointment to make sure her teeth and gums are healthy since she likes sweets and because her gums may be getting sensitive with all the blood she's pumping to keep me healthy.
Then on Saturday, Mommy and I went to Canton with CiCi, Nanny, and Uncle Dalton to get some cool stuff to decorate CiCi's yard before Splash Day.
Splash Day  will be so fun next year when I can splish, splash in the pool with my cousins and aunts and uncles and grandparents and great-grandparents! Next year's splash day, I'll be about 6 months old! Anyway, Canton was fun. I got a little massage with Mommy walking around everywhere and I decided I really like homemade pecan fried pies!
This week is a pretty special week for me, and I'll tell you all about it, but first look at how big I'm getting (almost 2 inches)!
Take a look:

This week I have a 1:1 ratio between my body and my head and because enough fat hasn't formed in me yet, my skin is transparent, which means I can see my blood vessels running through my body! I may be looking a little strange right now, but this week a major thing is happening with my fingers and toes... they are no longer webbed! I am looking more and more like the baby Mommy and Daddy are imagining seeing come Turkey Day, my body is straightening out, my ears are in place, and...
My luscious locks are starting to form this week, too! Do you think I will have Mommy's Auburn hair? Or Daddy's blonde hair? Or maybe my Nanny's Red hair!? You'll have to wait a few more months to find out (only about 6 more to go!).
I am also getting some tooth buds in my mouth so when I grow my teeth in enough I can eat all that yummy big kid food.
My nail beds are also starting to form and by the time I arrive I bet I'm going to have some pretty long nails, so Mommy better get the clippers out!
Also, my sex organs are starting to develop... it won't be long before the Dr. can determine if I am a boy or a girl! Mommy and Daddy can't wait to know, they want to start getting my room ready and Mommy wants to start making some cute onesies for me.
Mommy's tummy is starting to grow because I am growing so fast! She's starting to get frustrated because her clothes are getting uncomfortable and the maternity clothes she has are too big.
She goes to see the Dr this Friday to see how she and I are doing these days! Daddy is pretty excited to "see" me in person this time and not on a sonogram picture. Hopefully they will get to hear my heart beat and they will definitely get to see my heart fluttering.
Only one more week until the second trimester
See you next week!
