Mommy and Daddy are almost finished painting their bedroom. Don't worry all you nurses and Dr wanna-be's... Mommy wore a very funny looking mask and Daddy did most of the dangerous work--priming with Kilz was the most dangerous part for Mommy and I so we let Dad have all of the priming fun. Daddy bought the low VOC paint, to help with fumes, but Mommy and Daddy are letting the room ventilate before they move in just to be extra safe! Until they move into their "Master Suite", they have set up camp in what is to be my room... which is also the next room to be painted.
Mommy has been spackling the walls, removing screws and nails from the walls, and taking down the shelves in the closet --don't tell Dad, but he's gonna be painting the closet, too-- Mommy plans to hang up my clothes on one side of the closet, then she is going to plant my changing table in the middle where the door would be (taking that door off and adding curtains there will help suggest that there are more windows in my room--but there's not, ha!), then on the other side of the closet, she is going to make a reading nook for me (Mommy stole that idea from my friend Madie's Mommy, who made a fun reading nook for Madie in her closet!).
Mommy can't wait to get all of my furniture from Nanny and Cici and start decorating my room! In the meantime, Daddy's next project is to prime and paint my room a color between sunshine and easter egg yellow to add one more color for my lady bug room. Mommy thought the Red, Black, and White needed a little punch of one more color. I will post pictures of the nursery decorating process, too!
Wellll... it's the *last week* of the Second Trimester! Next week will mark the beginning to the end of my stay in my current house! In the Third Trimester I will continue to grow and I will be getting smarter, too! I will be moving more -- with a stronger kick -- this trimester. Mommy is going to be really tired and will be getting bigger as I get bigger, too! My house will be practicing for the big day by contracting (called Braxton-Hicks contractions) every now and then. Mommy will be getting ready for my big day, too by nesting (i.e. getting my room ready, washing and hanging up my clothes, and making sure she has everything she needs from diapers to washcloths to a car seat).
This week, Mommy has definitely been feeling the fatigue (though that may be from moving into the house, so it's not *all* my fault!). Leg cramps and backache are still hanging out around here; Mommy says they can leave if they want. Mommy is also running to the potty all the time, still (sorry Mom! I will try to stay off your bladder, but no promises). Mommy can also tell that her belly is getting bigger and bigger. She says it's like her belly grows out an inch over night! By now, Mommy should have gained just under 20 pounds from her pre-pregnancy weight. We have a Dr appointment later this week, so she will get weighed then.

This week I am a little over two pounds (that is an estimate, the Dr will take my weight at the appointment next week, so I'll let you know how that goes in week 28).
My digestive and circulatory systems continue to develop. This week my reproductive organs are developed and in place so one day (far, far away... Daddy says *mayyyybeee* when I'm 30) I can have a little one of my own! My eye sight is developing, too. My lungs are getting stronger as I practice breathing (which is getting interesting since there is less amniotic fluid in my house to practice breathing with these days). Also... since there is less amniotic fluid, Mommy is feeling stronger kicks and jabs ( I think I startle her sometimes! I am sneakyyy). My brain tissue continues to form, helping me to be the smarty no-pants I am! Things in my body seem to be getting more mature and regulated, because of this I have gained a sleep-and-play schedule. Unfortunately for Mommy, her moving around puts me right to sleep, so when she gets ready to rest or go to bed... *I* want to play and exercise! We will figure out this schedule, Mom, but for now... I win!
Here's a "funny" for this week...
