Thirty, Not So Flirty, Yet Thriving

Hello everyone! I hope everyone enjoyed the cool weather (though I know some got some heat with all of those Texas fires going on!). My family in East Texas had God's angels protecting them and their homes last week when fires blazed through pastures and land. I'm so glad everyone is okay!! Thank God for the firefighters who risked their lives trying to keep the fires under control. Speaking of fire fighters, this week marked another anniversary of 9/11. I hope you took the time to thank a service man or woman for caring for and protecting us on a daily basis and said a prayer for the families of those who were affected by the attacks of 9/11. My Daddy is a hero since he is a soldier, but he had an interview with a fire department and we all are so proud of him for making it so far in the process. Maybe one day he will be a double hero! A soldier and a fire fighter! I can't wait to meet a real live hero... and I am so lucky that he's my Daddy!
Daddy and his boys, Hank and Jr. I can't wait to meet all of them!
Welcome to week thirty! Only *ten* more weeks to go! I will be here sooner than you can say Thanksgiving Turkey!

What's going on with Mommy these days?? She's still having sleep issues. Anxiety, always hot, and back pain are all playing, all at once, making it very hard for Mommy to get through a night without waking up. Daddy tried to help by buying Mommy a nice big fan to help cool her off. Kudos to Daddy!

People can definitely tell Mommy has a bundle in her belly, now. In fact, many of her family and friends are requesting preggo pics. I think Mommy and Daddy are looking for someone to take those intimate pictures, so be patient! The pictures will come soon. Mommy's belly is getting big and making her pretty uncomfortable these days. She can still see her toes, but bending down to paint them is another story (Daddy may be adding "pedicurist" to his forte). With the big belly comes cramped ribs and Mommy having to stop to take a deep breath every once in a while since my royal cuteness is pushing up against them. Mommy has a bi-monthly Dr visit this week, I will let you know how it goes, the last appointment went well and the Glucose Tolerance Test came back normal, though Mommy was kind of worried since it made her sick all day.

Mommy and Daddy are getting a lot of smiles from all of the waves going across Mommy's belly these days. Mommy loves to sit in bed and watch me move around, trying to guess what is a foot from what is my head. She is so excited for the day that she will get to actually see and kiss my little piggie toes and give me lots of kisses on my sweet little head.

Dr's say mood swings hit big time this trimester. Mommy has kept her moods in check, but she has had to really concentrate on it since she has been experiencing lack of sleep from anxiety, wondering if she will have everything I need, having to potty at the most inopportune times, and her back hurting 24/7. Welcome to Mommy-hood, Mommy. Go take a bath and relax!

This week, my skin is getting smoother due to more fat accumulating.

My brain is also getting wrinklier for that brain tissue. Neurons in my cortex are developing which will one day control my memory, vision, emotions, thought processes, and coordinated vision.

I am now strong enough to grasp a finger and my lungs are getting stronger, too.

I am weighing about 3lbs according to the books, but Mommy will find out my exact weight at her Dr appointment this week. However, I will gain about half a pound a week for the next few weeks, so I will be getting bigger pretty quick these days.

See you all next week!!
