Butternut Squash

Hello!!! I hope everyone had a great week and I hope you enjoy Labor Day! This day marks the end of Summer, but Mommy told me Summer in Texas lasts clear through Christmas sometimes. I think I'm ready for some cooler Fall weather, though.

Last week we said "see-ya!" to Uncle David who headed out to school in Pittsburgh... I can't wait to meet him. My other uncle, Uncle Dalton, started school and football (I can't wait to watch him play!).
Mommy and Daddy welcomed a new family member to our house. Jr gets *so* lonely outside by himself, so we got him a friend to play with! Welcome Hank (named after the famous Hank the Cow Dog!)... I can't wait to meet my big brothers! Jr will be getting lots of Big Brother practice before I get here. Mommy says that Hank is a cuddle bug (something Jr never was being his crazy Lab self) and he and Jr seem to be getting along just fine.

Daddy was "Super Dad" last week and finished painting my room. Mommy made sure he knew how awesome he has been by buying him some Superman boxers, which he wears very proudly! Now that my room is painted, Mommy and Cici can start bringing in my furniture and all of the fun ladybugs!!

What's going on with Mommy??  Mommy had her Glucose Tolerance Test and an additional urine test done last week. Both came back normal, yay! At her last appointment the Dr was worried with Mommy's sudden weight gain and protein in her urine, so these tests verified that everything is fine, but Mommy is now on the Dr's preeclampsia radar. Better to be safe than sorry!!

Mommy has been feeling me kick and jab a lot lately. Gone are the cute butterfly flutters she was feeling. She is still having trouble sleeping, waking up a lot during the night for potty time and back pain. The ice packs and heat pads have been helping more though! Mommy is definitely aware that she is in the Third Trimester, now. Fatigue is setting in! Mommy needs more rest now that I am really growing and taking over her body. Imagine going about your day carrying a 20 pound backpack and never being able to put it down!

Last week was my last week as an Eggplant! This week I am the size of a.....

SQUASH!! How fitting is that since the color Daddy just painted my room is "Butternut Squash" yellow!

Since I am plumping up more, my movements are a lot stronger and Mommy can tell! I am about 2-3 pounds this week (I will triple in weight before my big arrival) and I am a little under 2 feet long (which is pretty close to what my birth length will be).

My muscles and lungs continue to develop while my brain is forming billions of neurons every day. My bones are also developing, but still have some softness to them. Remember that baby fur that started growing a few months ago? I still have it, but it will start to shed in the next few weeks once I get more fat to keep me warm! What does that mean?? It means the day of my arrival is getting closer and closer!

Only 11 weeks to go! Mommy and Daddy are getting so excited for my arrival!
