HALFTIME!

It's HALFTIME! But during this halftime, we aren't going to have any terrible performances because Mommy and I are going to be the stars of this show! Mommy is starting to parade me around with her small, yet definite baby bump. Mommy can tell her belly button doesn't have the folds it used to, maybe it will pop out soon! Like one of her friends said, "You know a Turkey is about ready when the timer pops up!" What a great analogy since Mommy calls me her Turkey Baby and all.

Last week Mommy and Daddy had their major ultrasound. I measured in at about 9 ounces and the sonographer said I look great, the due date is still Thanksgiving, and have no visual defects that we should be concerned about. He also said that he is 100% certain about my gender... GIRL! Mommy cried at the Dr's for the first time when the Dr showed her my face and fingers and cute little feet (I think Daddy shed a tear or two, also). Mommy and Daddy are SO glad I am healthy and cannot wait to meet me and give me lots of kisses. Jr is pretty excited to maintain his "Mommy's Boy" status and I think he is going to be an awesome big brother, he already puts his head on Mommy's belly when they're laying in bed to tell me he loves me!

On Friday, Mommy went to the OB for her monthly appointment and the Dr said everything looks good, except the placenta is a little close to Mommy's cervix. The Dr said it could move before November, but if it doesn't, having a natural birth would risk Mommy hemorrhaging, which is not something anyone wants to happen. If the placenta doesn't move, Mommy will have to have a C-section delivery, which is not something she wants. She said she doesn't care how I come into the world, just as long as she and I are healthy and she gets to hold me and gives me lots of kisses.
This week I am about the size of a cantaloupe. Mommy says she does not like this fruit, but she says that she *loves* me to pieces!

My booty to head measurements aren't being used anymore since I am getting bigger, but having to stay all curled up. In order to estimate my size, the Dr will measure my leg bones, tummy, and head circumference. This week I am almost seven inches long and I only have a few ounces to gain before I'm a whopping one pound!

My skin is also maturing these days. I am developing different layers and soon I'll have more fat under that skin to fill me out. Until then, I would be pretty chilly without the baby fuzz (the downy hair called Lanugo) that is growing on me. Don't worry though, the baby fuzz will probably shed off before I'm born, but if it doesn't, it will soon after I'm born.

My baby teeth are starting to form under my gums this week. About six to eight months after I am born they will start to surface (which will probably not feel too great) so I can start eating some yummy solids.

At the end of this week my stomach, intestines, liver, and other tummy organs will all be in place.
I have been continuing to practice my sucking and swallowing skills so that when I make my grand entrance I will be ready to eat! Speaking of eating... I can now clearly taste what Mommy's been chowing down on because my tastebuds are fully formed. Based on Mommy's diet I will like almost everything! From fruits to veggies to steak to shrimp and I will love spicy Mexican food! The only thing I will have to decide if I like on my own will be fish... Mommy won't eat the stuff, she says it's YUCKY!

This week, Mommy announced my gender to Mommy and Daddy's friends and family! We had a party at Cici's then went to Grandma & Grandpa Turnell's house to give them some cupcakes, too! Then On Sunday, we went to Aunt Shorty's to hang out and celebrate the 4th, and Mommy took the Bee cake to announce to all of them, too!

Here are some pictures from the "What's It Gonna Bee?" Party:
All the Bee Balloons (thank you Matt, Edith, and Dalton for helping make all of these!) and the Sign!

Erin's up for Pictionary! Everyone had to play to fight for the win because whoever won the game got to open the first cupcake and announce my gender!

The Tally was... Boy-5 and Girl-6....Rocky thought he would try to take a sneak peak inside one of the cupcakes, but we caught him in time to save the secret!
Erin (on the Right) won pictionary, so she is selecting her cupcake for the big reveal!

Mommy wanted to post these so bad early last week, but it was still a secret. Check out my first "ruffle-booty" onsie she made me!
Mommy also had to make my FIRST tutu!!  Uncle Dave will be happy! :-D
Only a few more months until I make my big debut into the world! Oh! Speaking of big debuts...I almost forgot, the Teeter's had their little girl this week, too. Her name is Charlotte... I was so excited because now I will have someone to play with!!! Can't wait to meet you Charlotte!

See you all next week!
