Starting Month 5!

Only one and a half months until the THIRD trimester! It's amazing how fast my time growing in Mommy's belly has gone. Though I can't wait to meet all of you, I'm not so sure about the big world...

Mommy is finding she's not as graceful as she was before (not that she ever was very graceful except when dancing...), she needs some supportive shoes and to toss those flip flops back into the closet so she doesn't take a fall! Mommy read that her feet may grow up to a full size and stay that way even after I arrive, she really hopes her feet don't grow because they are already a size 9 (maybe this is cause for the fumbles lately...)!

My house (Mommy's uterus) is above her belly button, so everyone can probably tell that she is pregnant, now. Mommy and Daddy have been talking about taking a "pre-parent staycation" before I get here and before Mommy feels too big and uncomfy to go anywhere. I think they both need some back massages to relax (I don't mind the massages either).

Ok... on to the more important things... ME! This week (Week 22) I have graduated to being the size of a papaya!

I am *almost*  one foot long and about one pound now! My skin is less transparent as fat accumulates under my skin. This week all of my bones have formed marrow (instead of cartilage) which means I can produce red blood cells. My facial features are getting more distinct this week, too(Mommy thinks I have her button nose!--don't tell her, but the lack of full bone structure makes pretty much all babies in their Mommy's belly look like they have button noses).

I am now getting into this whole sleeping thing... I can tell when it's dark and when it's light, so I sleep about twelve to fourteen hours a day (though not all at once). My eyes are moving, but my irises don't have pigment yet (will they be green/hazel like Mommy's or will I have Daddy's brown, teddy bear eyes?). This week I will also be experimenting with my sense of touch, reaching for this rope thing hanging out in here and checking out the nose on my face.

This week I have grown in my eyebrows, eyelashes (so I can bat them at my leading man...Daddy!), and maybe some hair! Daddy thinks my hair is going to be blonde--like we need more blondes in the world!-- and Mommy thinks it's going to have some red in it!

Daddy will have to get his stethoscope out because this week he will probably be able to hear my heartbeat with it... no need for the Doppler at the Dr's office, now!

See you next week!!
