Mommy and Daddy found out last week that God will be blessing their lives with a little girl in November! Mommy is so excited and is already starting to make girly onsies and tutus and bows for me. Daddy is so happy that I am very healthy, but I think he is nervous about all those boys that will be chasing after my cute self (good looks are in the genes, I can't help it!). Mommy and Daddy also decided on my name and my nursery theme the same day they found out I am their Little Princess. Mommy had been looking at a few different nursery themes for girls; her top three were Flamingos, Bees, and Lady Bugs. After looking around and considering what best stimulates the strengthening of my vision, Mommy and Daddy decided that the Lady Bugs would be adorable, easy to find, and the red, black, and white will be good for my perception development.
As you know from my past blogs... Mommy was on her own in thinking up girl's names because Daddy was *so* sure I was going to be a boy (that just shows you… go ahead and test God, His plans are usually different and *always* better than yours!). When they were leaving the Sonographer's office, they agreed on the perfect name.
My first name, Audrey, is of English origin and means "noble strength." They chose this particular name because it is very pretty and classic; also, they wanted me to have a strong name with a meaning that could also define good character. To Mommy and Daddy, having noble strength means having strong moral power and principles in which you live your life. They hope that this will become even more evident to me once I am older and can understand how having strong moral power and principles apply to me as a Princess of Christ.
*1 Corinthians 15:58 “So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.”
My middle name, Grace, is of Latin origin, meaning... "grace". Mommy and Daddy feel so blessed to be entrusted with one of God's most precious creations. They also hope that they are able to raise me to live my life gracefully: being courteous, polite, and elegant.
*Romans 5:2 “Through Him also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand. And let us rejoice and exalt in our hope of experiencing and enjoying the glory of God."
With all of the “logistics” out of the way... bring on the pink and purple and tutus and bows! I guess it’s a good thing that Daddy got a gun cleaning kit for Christmas last year, huh? Mommy says he is such a “manly man” that he may not know exactly what to do with a delicate Little Princess, but… Mommy also knows that his heart will melt the moment he lays eyes on me. His “manly man” life will be over, as he knows it. He will be such a softie, not to mention the best Daddy who ever lived! Mommy will have to get used to all of this girly stuff, too because she has two little brothers and grew up playing in tree houses and corn fields with the boys across the street (though she did have her Barbie phase!).
I am so excited to meet all of you and I will be here sooner than you can say Christmas!
See you next week!!
